It’s been a chilly winter, but you don’t have to go stir crazy. There’s always something happening in the Burlington community. Check out just a few of the Burlington community events this winter!
On February 22nd, the Teen to Teen Theatre will be hosting The Tinman’s Kind Heart Happy-ning Event at Thataways Youth Center. Come out to Thataways and enjoy a fun family event for all ages! This is your chance to spend an afternoon with the cast of Teen to Teen Theatre’s “OZ!” There will be a costume contest, so be sure to don your favorite character costume. From 1:00 to 3:00 pm you can enjoy games, crafts, refreshments, and even some door prizes. And it’s not just fun for you. They’ll also be collecting donations for the Humane Society of Alamance County, so bring a bag or can of dog or cat food and help some furry friends. Call (336) 222-5134 to make your reservation!
Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but there’s still a little bit of love in the air. Pre-teens are invited to have a little post-Valentine’s fun on Friday, February 28th. Students in grades 3-5 can put on their dancing shoes and gather at Thataways Youth Center for a Valentine’s Dinner and Dance. The dance will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. And if dancing isn’t their thing, there will also be arcade games, Wii games, and billiards. There will also be a chance to win door prizes which will be given out throughout the night! Call (336) 222-5134 for more details.
Of course you’re never too young or too old to enjoy a little boogie. On February 26th, the Kernodle Senior Center will be inviting citizens 55 and up to a Senior Dance Party. From 1:30 to 3:30 pm there will be plenty of music ranging from ballroom to Country Western, and line dancing. Come to listen or to get your groove on. You can call (336) 222-5135 for more information.
